Dan and his wife, Shirley, were on the cusp of retirement when we first met with them. They owned a couple of businesses but were in the process of divesting one of them. They had just received a letter from Golden Rule stating their premiums were going higher. Though the McCabe’s had worked hard and met with great success throughout their lives, they were certainly not interested in paying even higher premiums. Genesis Health stepped in and brought the monthly premium down 34%. Dan and Shirley subsequently sold the primary business and went on to manage their B&B and horse facility in Salida. Last year, we received a call from Dan that he had been thrown from one of his horses. After being rushed to the ER, we got to work on the bills. All of Dan’s bills have been paid.
