One of our agents walked up Taboot Art on Colfax Avenue. They were a small company with big ideas and just getting out of the gate. At the time, none of the owners are employees were insured. They were a little nervous about looking at traditional insurance. We suggested a palette of supplemental coverage and network access tailored to each guy’s needs. The following summer Rod, the President of Soundings Hi-Fi, was on his tractor on his 30 acre property. His tractor overturned on him. His neck was severely injured. Not only did his gap insurance pick up 100% of the deductible and coinsurance, he actually received an additional $3,334 in additional reimbursements over the amount of  his accident-related expenses. Today, we insure many of the Soundings Hi-Fi staff on a pre-tax basis through a defined-contribution plan, which allows Rod to reduce his tax liability and control his health insurance costs.
